WET PLATE WORKSHOP

Amy-Rose

Back in May, me and one of my favourites, Alice took a wet plate workshop with the incredible Laura Peters.

Our plates arrived in the post this morning and I fell in love all over again! Its almost like they grew more beautiful over time.

I struggled a lot with posing because I'm so unused to being infront of the camera. But, my strange squinty frown has grown on me. Alice has an ethereal beauty, which is perfectly in keeping with the process of wet plate photography.

I learnt so much about this age-old photographic processes from 1850's and got to practise that which I have only romanticised about in the past.

I advise anyone to take one of Laura's workshops, she is an incredible teacher.

I just can't wait to make some prints from them!

Plates below are a mixture of black acrylic, tin and glass.
