I normally head up my blog with an image from the couples portrait shoot - a 20 minute gap in the wedding day where the couple get to hang out, just the two of them (and me), take a breath and chat about the day, be a bit romantic and enjoy a few moments to get papped looking like rockstars. With Anna and Matt, I simply found that this is how they looked all day, whether they were tying the knot under a ribboned tree or chilling on hay bales soaking up the last few minutes of the British summer sun. So, I came to the conclusion that in fact, a shot with their mates, daughter on one knee, bottle of champagne in the other was much more telling of how their wedding felt to photograph, which after all is a nice thing to do - photograph how it feels.
Aside from looking glamorous, Matt and Anna's food end entertainment set up was awesome - their tipi (by Tipi Unique) looked lush set in a beautiful orchard with wild flowers and hay bales scattered around. They had Heidi the Van for their locally sourced, homemade street food and Stirred Events offering bespoke cocktails to guests tastes. We then had Dave Dee Disco's heading up the party that no doubt continued into the small hours. Although Matt and Anna put together most of the wedding themselves, they had LMS weddings on hand through out the day to co-ordinate everything and make sure timings ran smoothly!
I had such an wonderful day and I knew this wedding would be pretty special from the moment I had the enquiry. Thanks as always for having me there to document and celebrate your day!
